“X” The Twitter Bird has “flown the coop”!
fly the coop — “to escape; to get out or get away”

I was a long-time Twitter user. It’s where I got my news and stayed connected with friends. But I quit Twitter after Musk started to fucking ruin it.
Musk has made several changes to Twitter since he took over the company, and many of them have made the platform worse. He’s rolled back moderation policies, allowing more hate speech and misinformation to spread. He’s also made it easier for bots to operate on Twitter, which has led to an increase in spam and scams.
Well, the Bird finally said I’ve had enough and “flew the coop”. Now “X” has moved in.
- Who is Elon Musk?
- Elon Musk Claims Twitter Will Soon Ditch Bird Logo for ‘X’ — Rolling Stone “THE DE-FEATHERING OF Twitter may soon be upon us as Elon Musk claimed in a series of Saturday night tweets that the company’s logo will soon shift from its trademark bird to simply “X.” In a series of late-night tweets that touched on topics like the Fermi Paradox, declining birth rates, memes and whether Twitter should default in light or dark mode, Musk wrote, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.””
- The weird sorrow of losing Twitter Grieving a loss, when the loss is the hell-bird site you weren’t supposed to love.
- Have We Considered That Maybe Elon Musk Just Hated Twitter & The People Who Use It All Along? | Techdirt “And, at some point, the only conclusion seems to be that Elon never actually liked “Twitter.” Sure, he liked the attention that he got on Twitter. But the rest of Twitter, and the value to users other than himself never seemed to make much sense to him. So he’s burned it all down, and what’s left is an app where it’s only valuable if you are Elon Musk, or someone obsessed with Elon Musk.”
- Twitter is now X as the little blue bird disappears Twitter is being rebranded to X. The new logo has started appearing on the web, hours after Twitter owner Elon Musk announced plans to rebrand to X.
- Twitter becomes X — by Casey Newton — Platformer “Here’s my answer: this framing misses the true shape of Musk’s project, which is best understood not as a money-making endeavor, but as an extended act of cultural vandalism. Just as he graffitis his 420s and 69s all over corporate filings; and just as he paints over corporate signage and office rooms with his little sex puns; so does he delight in erasing the Twitter that was.”
