What writing app is the right app?

This is something that I struggle with more than I should. Should I be writing in Ulysses, iA Writer, Byword, Bear, BBEdit, Drafts etc.? I own or have a subscription to all the above. They all do what I need to do to write a blog post. Some do it better than others, but they all work. And none are perfect.

I’ve switched apps more times than I can count since I started writing blog posts in 2015. I’ve always felt like I need to pick one app and stick with it. Maybe I feel that way because many writers recommend doing just that. The problem is this hasn’t worked for me. Often times I get bored writing in the same app day after day and need a change.

Switching apps gets frustrating and time-consuming. Going forward I’m going to write in whatever app I feel like writing in. I’m done having a designated app. To accommodate this, I did have to make some modifications to my writing workflow.
