Making Obama — the backstory of Barack Obama

The first time I heard the name Barack Obama was the 2012 Presidential Election. Who is this guy? Like me, many of us had never heard of him unless you lived in Chicago.

Although I didn’t know much of his story I liked what he said and I voted for him. I also voted for him in his re-election to a second term.

I listen to a lot of Podcasts. The other day I was listening to an episode of This American Life where they promoted a WBEZ Chicago podcast called Making Obama.

Through this podcast, I learned Barack Obama’s backstory that leads to him becoming our 57th President.

This is definitely a podcast worth listening to.

Making Obama: Hosted by Jenn White and produced by Colin McNulty.

Former President Barack Obama — along with key advisers, mentors, and rivals — tells the story of his climb from Chicago to the national stage. Season One of Making told the story of how Oprah built a media empire. Now, the story of how Chicago shaped the country’s first African-American president.
